The ability to quickly create customised surcharges is now a standard feature of MachShip! This removes the need to contact Machship Customer Support, send through the request instructions and then waiting for the new surcharge to be created and added to your account. The new Surcharge Rules feature allows customers to not only create their own, but to also manage whenthey are activated, amended or deactivated. Users are now in full control of their Surcharge Rules.
Creating Surcharge Rules
Create a Surcharge
Go to 'Admin' tab at top of screen. Select "Surcharge Rules" from Drop list.
Select Surcharge Rules from Drop List options:
By selecting the button at the top left-hand corner of the page, a list of all Existing Surcharge Rules will appear. This includes both Enabled and Disabled rules.
To amend an existing Surcharge Rule (whether Enabled or Disenabled), go to the cog wheel at the far-right hand side of the line, and click on Edit Surcharge Rule.
Editing allows the User to go into an existing Surcharge Rule and make as many or as little changes as they want:
The surcharge rule logic is now available to edit.
In this example, we have added a carrier to this rule.
Once Modified, it is now up to the User to amend the name of the Rule.
As a further demonstrable example, if we were to amend the rule,, we would need to amend the name to reflect its properties. See below:
This create a new rulealongside the previous Surcharge Rule used as the template. Users can disenable the previous rule if no longer required.
Users can also delete the Surcharge Rule altogether from this page by Selecting "Delete Surcharge Rule" button at the bottom left hand side pf the page.
Creating New Surcharge Rule
Go to top right corner of the page and select button labelled Create Surcharge Rule.

Once the new Surcharge Rule is configured, window below will itemise the fields being considered.
The new Surcharge Rule is configured in an itemized way via an If/Then table, allowing for simple and quick selection of key variables to structure the Surcharge Rule. Be sure to name it correctly and check the Surcharge Price to be applied to consignment meeting this rule.
Enabling Your Surcharge Rule
Once Configured, select "This Surcharge is enabled" and "Create Surcharge Rule".
