Understanding different User Roles in MachShip

When creating a User in MachShip you need to assign a Role or series of Roles which will set what access that user has to the system. In order to understand what permissions are attached to each Role, users can access the View Roles page.

How to Navigate to the Manage Roles Page

Navigate to Admin and select Other Options.

Under the Users section, click on View Roles.

This will take you through to the Manage Roles grid. Here you will find a list of all the Roles that your organisation has access to.

User Role Accessibilities and Permissions

To investigate the permissions and access that comes with a Role you can search for the Role and then select View Role.

The View Role screen will outline the componentssub-components, and permission that each Role has been assigned. MachShip has provided a brief description for each Sub-Components and the permission levelsIf a component is not shown as a series of sub-components, then the permission level shown has been assigned to the whole component.

The Components are:

System Admin - sub-components relate to the creation of workflows, users, companies, receiver accounts, printer settings, and API tokens.

Consignments - pertains to everything relating to consignments including quoting, creating, manifesting, tracking and importing.

Financial - provides access to reconcile carrier invoices. This component will also pertain to invoicing if you are a freight reseller.

Dashboards - provides access to each of the available dashboards.

Reports - provides access to each of the reports.

The Permissions are:

Create/Delete - full access to the sub-component.

View - can view the sub-component but not alter it.

None - no access to the sub-component at all.

Please note that though users may be given access to certain permissions via a Role, the subscription level they have signed on to with MachShip will define their overall access.
