Create a Depot


When freight needs to move through multiple carriers to reach its destination, that's called a Journey. In MachShip, you set this up by adding a depot between the pickup and delivery locations.

InfoFor users to access this feature, make sure the permission set is enabled for the user role. For Depots this permission is called Company Depots and sits within the Company permission set.

Adding depots to your depot network

  1. Ensure you are logged into the root company of your organisation i.e. the company at the top of your company tree.



  2. Navigate to Admin then Create Depot



  3. At a minimum complete the following fields:
    1. Name - Recognisable name of the depot, presented in the depot picker
    2. Phone - Used by the carrier if they need to contact the depot during delivery or pickup
    3. Address and Suburb - Location for the carrier's driver

  4. Optionally complete the following fields:


    1. Notes - are copied into the special instructions for the carrier's driver
    2. Carrier Access - Restrict the carriers that are allowed to deliver into or pickup from the depot
    3. Operating Hours

  5. Click Create Depot.
