Instructions on how to create a Saved Company Location
1. Location Name and Abbreviation
These are free text fields and will be used to identify the Location Group. The abbreviation will be the field which will be placed on the location import csv fields (outlined in this link).
2. Location Type
Locations can be set as being either Pickup Location, Delivery Locations or Both. Use the drop down to set what locations can be added to this Location Group.
3. Parent Location Group
To allow for users to create and utilise sub-groupings on Location Groups, the Parent Location Group function will enable maximum flexibility in managing the locations.
As an example of Parent Location Group's in use, there may be a series of location groups called for hardware store Grunnings named Grunnings National, Grunnings Vic, and Grunnings NSW. The parent location group would be the group called Grunnings National with the 2 children being the groups Grunnings Vic and Grunnings NSW.
By separating the locations in this manner we would enable maximum flexibility in using location groups and the most efficient setup. In this instance, all stores would be allocated against either the group Grunnings Vic or Grunnings NSW. If there was the need to use locations for a country-wide rollout of goods, you would use the location group Grunnings National. As this contains all locations in the child groups all stores would be used. Alternatively, should there be a need to only create a batch of consignments for the Vic stores, you could use the group Grunnings Vic.
4. Save the Location Group
5. Add the Locations
In order to utilise the Location Group, you will require some Company Locations to have been created. This can be completed either through the UI or through a csv import.
Company Locations can be added to a Location Group by:
I. The UI
When you successfully create the Company Location Group as outlined above, the Create Company Location Group will refresh and become the Edit Company Location Group page. This will have an empty Locations Grid situated at the bottom of the page.
To add the location select the Add Locations button.
This will prompt the Add Locations modal to appear. On this modal you will see every single Saved Company Location that your user has access to. You can use the tick boxes on the left to select the locations you wish to add and hit the Add Selected Locations button or you can add all locations through the Add All Locations button.
Once added, the locations will appear in the Locations Grid where they can be viewed, edited or removed from the Location Group.
Save the Location Group and those locations will now be accessible to use.
II. Importing:
Importing of Company Locations is outlined in the following link. The import csv is set up as follows:
Company Account Code | Location Type | Location Name | Location Abbreviation | Contact | Phone | Address Line 1 | Address Line 2 | Suburb | Postcode | Special Instructions | Very Frequent Address | Group 1 | Group 2 | Group 3 | Etc... | |
To assign a Company Location to a Company Location Group set the Location Group abbreviation in the relevant cell at the end of the template (as above). A Company Location can be attached to as many Company Location Groups. Simply setup more columns to the right of Group 3 to include more Location Groups.
