How to create a Carrier Account with Couriers Please

When looking to set up a new account with Couriers Please you will need to contact their IT department and advise them that you are looking to despatch your account through MachShip. This team can be contacted at connect@couriersplease.com.au. Please cc integrations@machship.com in your email.

Your email should be as follows:

Hi Support Team,

I need to set up my account <insert account code> with Couriers Please so that I may consign with my new FMS partner MachShip

Can you please provide me with the following:

1. Customer Identifier / Dispatch ID
2. API Key
3. Connote Range
4. Label Range
5. Service Codes
6. Can you please ensure that my account is set up so we can get the tracking in MachShip where the tracking is linked via:
https://edi.couriersplease.com.au/track.php?key=key&track=connote

Finally, could you please also send a copy of my rates in excel format so I may be able to upload these into the MachShip system.

Once the Couriers Please team responds then we need to fill out the specific options.

Customer Identifier - This will be supplied by the Couriers Please sales team after the account is set up. It will usually be four characters and a mixture of letters and numbers. Will appear as the Gateway Id on the Customer setup form. This is used as the prefix for both the consignment note number and the item reference number.

Carrier Account Code -  This will be the charge account you have been provided by Couriers Please. It will also be utilised when booking pickups. It is generally a 9-digit number

API Key for Couriers Please - The API key is required for MachShip to be able to book a pickup electronically.

Reference Pools - MachShip utilises reference pools to maintain a count on connote, manifest and item numbers. The reference pool will ensure that each of those numbers is unique to what we have sent to the carrier previously. More information can be obtained on reference pools here. Couriers Please requires the creation of 2 reference pools, for the Connote number  and Item Number

To create the reference pool select the Create Carrier Reference Pool button at the bottom of the page.

If you are creating a new account, then the Reference Pools will be set to the following fields:

Pool Name - Set as Couriers Please Connote Ref Pool <Account Code>
Minimum Value - 1
Maximum Value - 999999 (that is six 9's)
Next Value -  1
Cyclical - No

and

Pool Name - Set as Couriers Please Item Ref Pool <Account Code>
Minimum Value - 1
Maximum Value - 999999 (that is six 9's)
Next Value -  1
Cyclical - No

It will appear as below:

It will appear as below:

Once created it will appear in the drop-down as below:

Should you already be trading on an existing account please set the next available field as 1000 consignments higher than the highest connote number on your previous account.

Otherwise, please complete the Carrier Account Fields as how they are outlined at this link.

Test:

Once the account has been set up and all the rates have been added, you will need to run a test to ensure that everything will run successfully upon go-live. To do this, create a consignment - please make Reference 1 and 2 and the delivery special instructions THIS IS A TEST. Once this has been created please manifest the consignment to the carrier. If you experience any issues please contact support@machship.com.

If you receive a successful manifest message from MachShip then please send an email to connect@couriersplease.com.au and advise them that you are starting to despatch your Couriers Please account through MachShip and that you would like to receive verification on the test file and permission to start to trade. Please include the label pdf's for the manifest, connote and the items.

Advise the support team of the connote number and request that they should cancel this to ensure that you are not charged. Please cc integrations@machship.com on this email so we can help if required.

On confirmation from the support team that the setup is validated, you are free to begin to consign.
