Route Carrier Selection

To allow for a more efficient generation of consignments via the Quick Consignment and Pending Consignment screens, MachShip has the Route Carrier Selection option. This option will utilise the MachShip pricing engine to provide a list of all available pricing options allowing you to select whichever service will best suit your freight movement.


How do you set Route 
Carrier Selection:

On either the Pending Consignment or the Quick Consignment page, the Route Selection option will appear in the drop-down list in the top right-hand corner of the screen:

 

Once selection the carrier selection section appears as below:



How do you set the Route Carrier Selection as your Default method:

If you would like to have the Route Carrier Selection method as the default option utilised on both the Quick Consignment and the Pending Consignment screen, you would set this on the company page. 

To set this navigate through to Admin  and View Companies:


This will bring you through to the View Companies Grid. You can then search for the company you wish to set the default creation method as the Route Carrier Selection. 

Once found, you can then select the cog on the right and select Edit Company

Scroll down to the Consignment Carrier Selection section and select the option Route Carrier Selection:

This will now be your default mode when converting or generating consignments via the Quick and Pending consignment pages.

How do you utilise the Route Carrier Selection method?

The Route Carrier Selection module will affect the consignments creation from both the Pending and the Quick Consignment screens. When a user has entered in the details below:




From and To Location:

At a minimum, MachShip will require the location Names, Addresses and Suburb/Postcode details

Items:

MachShip 
will require the user to provide the dimensions (cm) and weight (kg) as well as the item type for every item on the consignment. Here you will also provide an dangerous goods information

Desired Despatch Date

This will be the date when the shipment will be ready to be collected by the transport company

Once provided you will see that the route options section will appear as below:

This will indicate that MachShip's pricing engine is calculating all the available carrier services that can be booked for this shipment. 

Once returned it will appear like below:

Services will be listed based on your desired route ordering, with the default being from cheapest to most expensive. Prices will also be shown based on your desired output which can be found above the grid-like in the below:

MachShip will also provide an estimated delivery timeframe for the consignment based on the carriers transit durations:

Should any changes be made to the consignments Items, Locations or Dates, MachShip will then re-calculate the consignment options. 

To select a carrier option simply scroll through the list and click on the service you wish to utilise.

Once selected, the service option will appear highlighted in blue within the pricing list, and it will also show in the Selected Route option box. 

To create the consignment, simply select from the available options, or utilise the keyboard shortcuts. 

How to Filter the Route Options:

To allow for ease of searching and filtering of the route options list, users can click on the + Show Filters hyperlink. 

This will allow a user to:

1. Change the route ordering

2. Free text search for a carrier or service


3. Filter by Carrier, Service or Account
