How to Remanifest a Consignment

How to Remanifest a Consignment

MachShip has the capability for clients to resend consignment data to a carrier depending on the integration method as it  allows only certain Carriers who are able to facilitate remanifesting of data.

How to Remanifest a Consignment

In order to remanifest, you will need to navigate to the Manifests Page

Note: Admin users have the ability to utilise this.

Select Create/Manage tab and click View Manifests

On the Manifest page, navigate as to which consignment/s you want to remanifest.

Note: On the Search text box, you can locate the exact Manifest ID of consignment/s you want to remanifest. The Manifest ID are the digits allocated on the Manifest Page URL.

Sample:

Once validated, click on the cog button on the right side of the screen and click Remanifest.

A pop-up window for the Remanifest Consignment modal will appear, then click Remanifest.

Note: Remanifesting does NOT re-book pickups; it only regenerates and retransmits the consignment data to the carrier using the current consignment information in MachShip.

Common use cases for remanifesting:

  • Correcting EDI file generation errors: If a carrier rejects an EDI file due to missing or incorrect fields, remanifesting regenerates the EDI payload with corrected data
  • Retransmitting failed transmissions: If a manifest file failed to transmit to the carrier's FTP server, remanifesting retransmits the file
  • Updating carrier data: If consignment data was updated after initial manifest (e.g., address correction, weight update), remanifesting sends the updated data to the carrier

After remanifesting, coordinate with the carrier to verify the new file was received and processed successfully.

This will then show the successfully re-manifested consignment:

For further validation, notice that on the view manifest page of the consignment, it has the new manifest request that it has been manifested but it hasn't re-book a pickup.
