How to edit a Saved Company Location

You can edit a Saved Company Location by taking the following steps. 

Method 1: Via the Saved Company Locations Grid

1. Navigate to the View Company Locations Grid

  • From the Create/Manage menu:





2. Search for the location via the Search Bar


3. Select Edit Company Location


4. Edit the details

Edit any of the details about the location. The only thing that will be locked will be the assigned Company.

5. Save


Method 2: Via any of the Create Consignment methods

1. Add Saved location as either Pickup or Delivery Location on Consignment creation page

  • Very Frequent Locations

  • Location Search

 

2. Edit the details

Edit any of the details about the location.

4. Verify the Information in the Update Location Modal

You will be presented with a modal showing the new location details on the right and the old location details on the left.

How Location Updates Affect Integrations

Location Updates and Integration Propagation:

When you update a saved company location in MachShip, the changes propagate differently depending on the context:

For Integrations (e.g., AWS, Shopify, ERP systems):

If a location is referenced by an active integration configuration, updating the location master data will automatically apply to all new consignments created by that integration. The integration system references the location by its Location ID, not by a static copy of the address. This means:

  • Address changes (street, suburb, postcode) will appear on new consignments
  • Contact details (phone, email) will be updated for new consignments
  • No additional integration-level configuration changes are required

For Already-Manifested Consignments:

If a consignment has already been manifested to a carrier, updating the saved location will NOT change the data that was already transmitted to the carrier. The carrier system retains the original address and contact details from the manifest. For manifested consignments, contact the carrier directly if corrections are needed.

For Unmanifested Consignments:

Pending (unmanifested) consignments will use the updated location details when they are manifested, provided they reference the same location ID.
