How to assign out a different prices for surcharges

MachShip has enabled the ability for a user to be able to assign out different prices on existing surcharges with pre-saved configurations. This will be relevant for all surcharges but particularly for configurations such as Hand Unloads, Tailgates and Length Surcharges where there may be a different price based on the carrier, service or sending location  MachShip company.

To set a different price navigate to the surcharges page via:

Select Admin and Other Options.

Under the Advanced Options, select Surcharges

Use the filters to search for an existing surcharge - Note all fields are optional.

Used by Company - enter the company name that uses the surcharge.

Carrier - enter the carrier that the surcharge is linked to

Carrier Account - enter the carrier account that uses the surcharge

Service - filter by service if required

You can also search in the field provided. If you have a tailgate surcharge that is linked to multiple carriers, type in the search field and the relevant surcharges will be displayed in the grid. For this example "tail" will result in the surcharge id of 154, this tells you that the same surcharge configuration has been set for all the following accounts/carriers.

To add a new account to the surcharge and set the new price,  select Edit Surcharge via the cog button to the right.

Scroll down and select Create Link

A new window will open. Here you will need to select the company & carrier the surcharge should apply to. To adjust the pricing select Yes to Override Pricing.

The current set price will be displayed, this can be overwritten with the new price.

If you need to charge the cost price out differently then you can change the price mechanism through the dropdown shown below

The options are:
Dollar - Will apply a flat dollar increase to the rate pricing.
Percentage of Route Price -
Will apply a dollar increase which is calculated as a percentage of the rate price.
Ratecard -  Will calculate the pricing based on a ratecard

Note: if you have access to sell rates then you will be able to adjust the mark-up and the sell price for these figures.

The options are:
Route Mark-up- will increase the surcharge price based on what the mark-up percentage of the rate price is
Set Markup % -
Will increase the surcharge cost by the set mark-up amount. Note you enter this as a whole percentage so for a 25% mark-up set this as 25
Set Sell Price -  Will set the sell rate as a flat amount no matter the cost
Ratecard  - Will price the sell for the surcharge based on a calculated ratecard
% of Sell Price -  Will set the sell amount for the surcharge based on a percentage amount of the sell price. i.e if this was 10% and the sell price for the route was $100 then the surcharge sell price would be $10

To apply the price select Create Link

The link will then be displayed in the list, you will need to then click on Save Surcharge.
